ARTICLE VIII, Finances Section 4:B.4:

Currently reads:

  1. Fifty Year: One-fourth (1/4) of the current Active International Per Capita Tax. Paid from the Chapter Treasury.

Change to read:

  1. Fifty Year: One-half (1/2) of the current Active International Per Capita Tax. Paid from the Chapter Treasury.

Rationale: This classification of membership is increasing very year, resulting in a decrease in per capita payable to the International Treasury from $50.00 as an Active/Active Life Member to $12.50 one-fourth (1/4) required as a 50 year member. It was reported in a recent issue of BUDDIE, that the cost to purchase a subscription to BUDDIE for those members who wish to order it, is $7.50 per year. This is still included in the fifty year member per capita.

ARTICLE VIII, Finances Section 4:B.4:

Currently reads:

  1. Fifty Year: One-fourth (1/4) of the current Active International Per Capita Tax. Paid from the Chapter Treasury.

Change to read:

  1. Fifty Year: Three-fourths (3/4) of the current Active International Per Capita Tax. Fifty year INACTIVE: One-half (1/2) of the current Active International Per Capita tax. Paid from the Chapter Treasury.

Rationale: According to Secretary-Treasurer Mary Ann Tuer, we have 178 50-year members. With the 2014 increase in per capita, 50-year (or more) members pay $12.50 each, totaling $2225 a year. If the 178 50-year+ paid 50% or $25 each, that would come to $4450. If the ACTIVE 50-year+ members paid 75% — counting all 178 – that would come to $4,450 per year.

Article VIII, Section. 5, B.

Currently reads: BUDDIE Fund: Printing and mailing BUDDIE publication.

Change to read: BUDDIE fund: Emailing of Buddie publication. Costs associated with mailing BUDDIE will be paid by the member at the annual cost as defined by the International Council.

Reason: Due to increasing costs with BUDDIE, it needs to become an email format unless requested by a member for mailing. If so, then the member should pay the cost associated with the mailing, which will be set annually by the International Council.

Submitted by: Xi Theta Chapter, Port Charlotte, FL

*Article XI, Section 3, A.

Currently reads: BUDDIE shall be published not less than six (6) or more than eight (8) issues annually.

Change to read: BUDDIE shall be published not less than six (6) or more than eight (8) issues annually. The publishing of BUDDIE will not be replaced by blog entries, published articles on the website, or any other electronic means of publication that is not included in the emailing or mailing of BUDDIE to members.

Reason: BUDDIE is published via bylaws which do not include blog entries.

Submitted by: Xi Theta Chapter, Port Charlotte, FL

Update from SIGMA PROVINCE, Arizona, Kay First, Province Editor

Alpha Gamma held a yard sale the weekend of April 11. The weather was beautiful and the sale was held in the lovely yard at Milly Creighton’s home. Donna Long worked steadily in spite of a broken wrist which is being repaired today.

Lambda Epsilon – Sigma Province is over for another year, it was a great success for our chapter who hosted the event, our theme was Saloon Girls of the West. What a nice surprise to see so many of our sisters from surrounding chapters dress the part, our entertainment was can can girls. Our own International Vice President, Wendie McKnelly, and International President, Liz Cochrane, our VIO, really got involved with the music and skits. Congratulations to our
own Dolores Kishman, Sigma’s new Province President. Dolores you will be great and especially your wisdom on all things associated with the Bylaws. We had a wonderful luncheon at Eleanor’s home with corned beef and cabbage and all the fixings. Our next event was our Annual Spring Rummage sale held on April 17th, so we
are all rummaged through our “treasurers” to donate for the cause.

Nu Delta – Greetings from sunny Arizona and Nu Delta! This past spring we filled Easter Baskets with SPG LOVE for Maggie’s Place for women and babies in need. Linda Jacobo joined us as a potential new member and we are hoping to install her prior to end of summer. Nu Delta had a great fund raising success in the cool country of Chino Valley, a fabulous spaghetti dinner with fun Italian accents. We also had a fun day for families playing laser tag and other fun activities, everyone had a blast! Planning is now in place for Founder’s Day 2015 and Province 2016. Nu Delta invites Sigma Province to prepare to BELIEVE… “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Eleanor Roosevelt.

Iota Psi – We completed our annual Easter Basket Parade. This year we put together 50 baskets with oodles of candy, toys, books, and stuffed animals. All the baskets were delivered to the grateful Autumn House and Save the Family. We also had our Spring garage sale at Caroline Cline’s and the leftovers were taken to Goodwill. Our Chapter elections were a snap, with everyone continuing in their respective positions with Dee Masters taking on the position of Editor. Our editor was elected as Province Editor and Dee’s willingness to serve is a real blessing. Our current President was also elected to a Province office as Organizer. With Shannon Hooten as Province Secretary, and Wendy McKnelly as Counselor, our Sigma Province will move forward in good hands and sure steps.

Contributing editors: Mary Fuller, Alpha Gamma; Lynn McKinney, Lambda Epsilon; Shannon Hooten Nu Delta; and Kay First, Iota Psi.
